Moku
Study less. Remember more.
Download on the App StoreI wanted to learn Portuguese. I tried many apps and never quite settled on one. So I built the one I wanted to use.
I use Moku for far more than Portuguese now. It turns out that once reviewing is quick and pleasant, you start putting everything into it: the words, the names, the facts you keep meaning to remember and somehow never do.
Underneath is the Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler algorithm that works out when you're about to forget a card and brings it back at exactly that moment. It learns from every answer, so the cards you find hard come round sooner and the ones you know get more room. Start with a deck from Discover, import your own .apkg files, or build decks card by card. Either way, you answer honestly and the schedule takes care of itself.
Here's what it looks like.
THE REST OF IT
- Smart scheduling, by the Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler, that adapts to your memory
- Discover: decks to start with, plus a way into AnkiWeb's shared library
- Open
.apkgdecks from Files, Mail, Safari, or AirDrop, with a preview before anything is imported - Pictures and audio from imported decks
- Reversed decks study both ways round, not the same question twice
- Study your own decks in both directions
- Fast tap and swipe controls
- Create, edit, rename, search, and organize cards, decks, and whole collections
- Manual backup export and confirmed import through Files
- Daily goals, streaks, and review reminders
- Detailed statistics, including activity, retention, rating patterns, and study times
- Apple Watch companion for reviewing due cards from your wrist
- Light and dark mode
I think it turned out pretty good, and I hope you like it too.
